Aurum Funds Limited is Hiring – Sales Associate

An opportunity to join a longstanding and successful alternative investment group working in the sales and business development team. The Aurum group provides a range of commingled and bespoke investment solutions to a global client base and has over $2.8bn in assets under management, of which over 70% is in bespoke solutions. The firm is currently seeking to recruit a sales associate. The successful candidate will form a key part of the sales team and will report directly to the Head of Sales.

Mission

Deliver high quality and proactive sales support to the Head of Sales.  The successful candidate will report to the Head of Sales, but will also work closely with the Head of Investor Relations and the broader marketing and business development teams. The role involves managing sales operations and, where relevant and with proper experience, identifying and liaising with prospects and ultimately raising assets directly.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Assist Head of Sales across a broad range of asset raising activities
  • Research prospects and markets to provide qualified leads and market insight to the sales team
  • Research and maintain data on the competitive landscape in key markets
  • Ensure all appropriate mandate opportunities are identified
  • Optimise effectiveness of sales trips, sourcing leads, planning meetings and providing pre trip information packs
  • Attend meetings with prospects, prepare sales notes where relevant and ensure follow up actions are logged and performed.
  • Liaise with marketing to manage presentations or create new content as required
  • With sufficient experience, proactively identify leads and contact prospects to engage and influence investment decisions

Requirements

  • Ability to work in the U.K.
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience (asset management sales and/or client relationship management)
  • Understanding of and an interest in hedge funds, asset management and relevant asset classes
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong writing skills with an ability to write coherently and persuasively
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to travel internationally

Preferred

  • Degree level education
  • Interest in/progress towards relevant qualifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA etc.).
